You know you’re an English teacher
…when even in your dreams you correct the other person’s pronunciation or grammar mistakes (and manage to remember only that part of the dream when you wake up-sigh!!!)
…when every time you go to a shopping mall, your first stop is at the office superstore (or any other office supply store)to buy yet another marker that will make your corrections (on writing assignments)look more fun and less offensive. And when you can’t find that “magic” marker, you end up buying yet another OHP pen, or something else to be used in class.

… when you can understand and speak fluent ‘local’ English, such as Chinese English or Engrish.

… when you automatically correct Eglish – to teller, freinds, family and the TV.

You know you are an English teacher (for beginners and in a foreign country) when during the preparation for class you translate conceptual formations just to make sure that in case nobody understands you in English you can give it a shot in their native language.

And life WOULD be so much easier with my own photocopier!
